Here's what you need:
#6 plastic (clear containers from the bakery of deli that have the number 6 recyclable symbol on the bottom) I used the lid from a packaged graham cracker crust for this one.
If you want it to be opaque (white rather than clear) you can sand the surface and then use colored pencil rather than markers.
permanent markers
hole punch (if you want to be able to hang the finished product)
300-350 degree oven (I used a toaster oven and the temp. was too variable and some got too hot and wrinkled so I would definitely recommend a full-size oven for this project.
foil lined cookie sheet.
Projects shrink to about 1/3 of the original size.
We made paint pallet neckerchief slides (using the primary and secondary colors) as December's Cub Scout theme is "Works of Art".
Make your design using permanent markers, cut out, place on foil lined cookie sheet, and place in pre heated oven for about 1 minute. Keep a close eye on it. The plastic will begin to wrinkle and should flatten back out when it is done. You can use a spatula to flatten it more if needed after removing it from the oven.
Warning: We tried stars as well and the points curled up and we couldn't fix them. "Bulky" shapes work best.
